Shannon is currently the co-host of the “Da Kolohe Krew” morning show with Mele Apana on KINE-FM (Hawaiian 105) His radio career spans over 20 years in the Honolulu market. He has hosted of the popular TV summer series, “Heineken Hot Hawaiian Nights” (KFVE-TV) and co-host of the annual Mayor’s Honolulu City Lights Electric Parade.
Shannon’s career started on KCCN-FM (FM 100) as part of the highly rated evening show “The Short & Sweet Show”. Over the years, Shannon has worked the mid-day and afternoon drive shifts. After Shannon finishes his morning shift he is a multi-tasker in the office and doubles as the promotion & marketing director for SummitMedia Hawaii.
He’s married to Kumu Hula and business owner, Mandi Scott and a proud daddy to two beautiful girls. Shannon coaches soccer and is a published author of the Keiki Book, “Maka the Magic Music Maker”.
Radio and TV personality Mele Apana has been in the entertainment and radio industry for over 30 years. She is a Kaua’i native, born into the renown musical Apana family from Kapa’a and is also a proud graduate of the Kamehameha Schools.
Mele is a prominent voice in Hawai’i, and her outstanding work in the music industry and community has been unparalleled, propelling her to become one of Hawaii’s most revered radio personalities and emcees. Mele is also a philanthropist, school teacher, entertainer, pa’u rider, and concert promoter, producing sold out events, including her illustrious Mothers Day Concert.
Mele has been on many stations in the Honolulu market over her career such as KCCN-FM, KDNN-FM, and KXME-FM. She has also been an entertainment reporter for Hawaii News Now (NBC & CBS affiliate). She is currently co-hosting morning drive with Shannon Scott on KINE-FM (Hawaiian 105) and the Hawaiian Airlines in-flight Hawaiian music channel.
