Gorillaz have announced that a new album titled “The Mountain” will be released March 20, 2026, as well as a new European tour to coincide with the album drop.
The Mountain marks the ninth record from Gorillaz (created by Damon Albarn and Jamie Hewlett), and the first-ever album released on its own new label, KONG. The new project was recorded at Studio 13 in London and Devon, as well as various locations in India. Additional sessions took place in Los Angeles, Ashgabat, Damascus, New York and Miami. The album will also feature guest appearances from Black Thought, Yasiin Bey, Johnny Marr, Anoushka Shankar, Dennis Hopper, Bizarrap and many more.
Gorillaz previewed the ‘The Mountain’ project with the release of the first track from the album titled “The Happy Dictator,” featuring Sparks. Check out the visualizer for ‘The Happy Dictator’ – HERE.
Gorillaz went on to release the second track from The Mountain titled “The Manifesto” (featuring Argentine rapper Trueno, as well as a freestyle from the late D12 member Proof). See the visualizer for ‘The Manifesto” – HERE.
Additionally, Gorillaz announced “The Mountain Tour” is slated to kick off in Manchester on March 21, 2026, making stops in Glasgow, Cardiff and Dublin before concluding with a one-off show at London’s Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on June 20.
