(AP)  The Las Vegas Strip's newest concert space is opening its doors just before the new year with a performance by pop star Bruno MarsThe Cosmopolitan Las Vegas announced today that Mars will play shows on Dec. 29 and 31 at its new Eastern European glass factory-themed venue. He will return to the hotel-casino six more times during 2014.The 3,000-capacity theater, called the Chelsea, features glass chandeliers, brick walls, a grand staircase, high ceilings and a vintage wooden bar.The Cosmopolitan is touting the space as an "avant garde" venue where fans can get an up-close look at stars who usually play arenas.CEO John Unwin told The Associated Press earlier in the year that the space would be an antidote to vanilla venues along the Strip.

Jack Johnson has a brand new CD out and he has a very prominent banner on the iTunes website; Reviews said this is even more mellow than his previous albums.  He is currently on the tour supporting the new CD called “From Here To Now To You” on the East Coast & Canada till August 20;  then heads in December to Aotearoa and Australia.

December 14, Jimmy Buffett return to the Waikiki Shell for a night of ”fin-tastic” music and fun; part of the “Songs From St. Somewhere” tour 2013; tickets go on sale this Friday at 9:00am.  Jimmy Buffett has also been busy; he has been on Hawaii Five-0 a few times as a helicopter pilot.

Part of the “Music of Hawaii” series - Nathan Aweau will be at the Doris Duke Theatre at the Honolulu Museum of Art this evening at 7:30pm.; talking with Nathan, he’s only been there once before; as a child interested in art; not knowing he would be one day headlining there....
